Tsvetana Shtilyanova


Tsvetana Shtilyanova is a Bulgarian artist, painter, one of the favorites of the royal family before September 9, 1944.
He was a master of pastel portraiture. He also left behind oil paintings, hundreds of drawings, and copies of paintings by old masters from the collections of the Louvre and the Museum of Lille.
Tsvetana Shtilyanova was born on 01.05.1903 in Kazanlak. She graduated from Painting at the State Academy of Arts / 1919-1928 / under Prof. Dimitar Gyudzhenov. She specialized in Paris / 1929 – 1933 /. She stayed there for four years. She participated in the Spring Salon at the Grand Palais. The portrait "My Mother" exhibited there was noted by critics, and her name was included in "Les artistes d'aujourd'hui" / 1.06.1933 /.
He spent part of his life in Prague and Vienna.
He paints mainly still lifes and portraits.
Since 1933. she regularly participated in the exhibitions of the Society "Contemporary Art" and of women artists. She organized 4 solo exhibitions and participated in the OHI of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. Until 1944 she was close to the royal family, and after the changes in 1944. she painted a little, mainly portraits of her relatives.
