Ivaylo Mirchev

Ivaylo Mirchev was born on August 11, 1954 in Sofia. He graduated from the Art High School and the Nikolay Pavlovich Art School (1981) in the class of Prof. Svetlin Rusev. He works with pencil, watercolor and gouache and has had numerous solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. His works are in the National Art Gallery and galleries in Europe and Asia. He is currently a professor at the National Academy of Arts and was chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (2004–2011). He is a winner of the Southern Spring awards (1985), the National Youth Exhibition (1986) and the Vladimir Dimitrov – The Master National Painting Award (2014).
