Edmond Demirjian

Edmond Demirdjian graduated from the Art High School (1971) and mural painting at the Academy of Arts in Sofia (1978). An active artist since 1978, he works in drawing, painting, graphics, murals and mosaics. In 1994 he received a green card for the USA for merits in art and a Pollock-Krasner scholarship. Awarded the Sofia Prize in 2006 for the exhibition "Unshown by Edmond". His work moved from figurative compositions to abstract expressionism. In 2008 he opened the "Salon-Atelier Edmond" in Sofia. He passed away in 2009. A foundation was established in his honor with an annual painting award.
