Dimo Nikolov
Dimo Nikolov is a Bulgarian artist-painter. Born on March 2, 1898 in the town of Aytos. In 1921, he went to the Czech Republic and entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. After graduating with honors, he remained in the Czech Republic, but returned to Bulgaria every year to draw subjects from his native way of life and culture. He organized his first solo exhibition in 1929, namely in Prague. Exhibitions followed in Pilsen, Ostrava, Hruvice, Budovitz, Borovska, etc. Dimo Nikolov's popularity in the Czech Republic grew and he became one of the most current names among artists. His works were included in the collections of even state and municipal galleries and museums. In Bulgaria, he exhibited in Burgas, Plovdiv, Aytos and other cities. He died in 1984 in Sofia.
