Danail Dechev
Born on August 20, 1891 in Razgrad, Danail Dechev early showed talent for painting, but did not graduate from an art academy. He participated in the First World War, and in 1921 he began to actively exhibit his works and became a member of the Society of South Bulgarian Artists. From 1926 he participated in the general exhibitions of Bulgarian artists, and in 1933 he opened his first solo exhibition in Sofia. He worked for many years in Razgrad, where he created a cycle of paintings about Ludogorie. He successfully participated in the International Biennale in Venice (1942, 1946) and in an international exhibition in Delhi (1960). He died on August 5, 1968.
